FIFA Restarts New Version Of The Club World Cup Program
At present, FIFA has organized a global club event, the Club World Cup. This event will be held in 2005. At that time, the champions of the highest level clubs of all continents will gather at the end of the year to compete for the club's world championship. Guangzhou Evergrande from China won the fourth place in 2013 and 2015.
This time, the FIFA Research Club World Cup is an enhanced version of this event. The participating teams will be expanded to 24 teams, and the competition time will be changed from one year to four years.
According to The Times, this event has received strong support from Asia. The Softbank Group of Japan and the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund are willing to invest $45 billion together to make this event a reality. There have been media outlets this summer to distribute the quotas on all continents. There will be 12 teams in Europe and 2 seats in Asia.
The Times pointed out that this event can be said to be a global slowdown. In Europe, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern, Juventus, Ajax, AC Milan, Inter Milan have won the Champions League many times. The team will be invited to participate.
However, this event has been opposed by all parties when it is proposed. The European side is worried that this event will affect the Champions League and the European National League. However, many giants also expressed their supportive attitude. After all, it is as high as 100 million pounds. The temptation of the champion is indeed too tempting.
The Times disclosed that FIFA will re-negotiate the possibility of starting the event at a meeting of the council in Rwanda on Thursday. If the resolution is passed, then, from 2021, the new version of the Club World Cup will replace the current World Club Cup and the Confederations Cup.
